Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. I’m so glad that you are here!
I would love to hear from you so please feel free to reach out for anything.

So, I’m Jessica (aka – Jess, Jessie, J).
I’m pretty much a walking dichotomy.
I love, love, love to travel but to me there is no place like home.
I love all the girly stuff – shoes and clothes but I love racing cars more.
I love my telescope (nerd alert) and Top Gear (UK version only please)
I am serious most of the time but I love to laugh more than anything.
I’m genuine, fiercely loyal and sometimes a little too competitive.
I’m a hard worker, incredibly shy and a lover of life.
When I’m in, I go all in.
It would be remiss of me not to mention that this blog is inspired by and dedicated to my mom Sandy. While she is no longer here with me; she lives on in me with every meal, each handwritten recipe and every moment spent in her most favorite place – the kitchen. Within these pages I give to you the love I have for cooking, entertaining and the things passed on to me from my mom who dedicated a lifetime to crafting good food and caring for a family.
I hope you are able to find some inspiration here.

For those of you wondering – some lovely FAQ’s (that even my friends still ask me):
So, do you take all of your photos?
Yup, I do.
What camera do you use?
I have a Canon Rebel T1i. The two lenses I shoot with most often are the Canon F/1.8 – EF 50mm and the standard 55mm kit lens.
How did you learn photography?
Well, see…that’s a very interesting question. The short answer is – I didn’t. I just bought a good camera which really does a lot of the hard work for me. I’m still learning.
I guess my advice is to just do it. You’ll learn what looks good as you go along. While I do believe there are some technical things that you should know, much of what will eventually develop is your style and that is something that can’t really be learned. It just is.
Where did you learn to cook?
Let’s just say that there is a picture somewhere that shows me holding my first batch of date scones at age 5. Also, for the first 22 years of my life, I had an exceptional tutor – my mom. Most days I wish I would have paid more attention to what she taught me so now, I just spend a lot of time reading about techniques and ingredients but there really is no substitute for simply getting in the kitchen and just doing it.
How do you develop your recipes?
I get inspiration from everywhere. From old cookbooks to recipes I’ve collected on my travels around the world – all of it inspires me. Most of the recipes on my blog are bits and pieces of inspiration from all over. I’m all about giving credit where credit is due so If a recipe or an idea is not mine, I’ll usually mention it at some point in the post.
I’ve noticed that you do other things like events and styling, how did you learn all of that?
Again, I get inspiration literally from everywhere – things I’ve seen to things I’ve actually done. I’m a corporate event planner/manager so I’ve seen a lot of event and design ideas in my day.
I love when I get opportunities to do more fun and creative things like floral design, tablescapes and overall creative styling for events like weddings, parties, photo shoots, etc.
I’ve noticed that you have shared your favorite products, do you get paid for that?
I wish. All the products, tools, etc that I share are products and tools that I actually use and find useful. The only reason I share them is so that you can partake in their awesomeness as well.
When can I expect new posts?
Well, I would absolutely love to have at least one up each day but with my current schedule I haven’t managed it yet. You know, sometimes life gets in the way – a busy weekend, a trip or an insane work week. So, I try to put up at least three new posts a week – Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I know that when I follow a blog, I want to see new content frequently – so I do try to do that! If you see all three posts – you know all is well but anything less than that, you know know that things are crazy!
