Easy Banana Bourbon Waffles
  • 8 waffles, follow mix directions
  • 3 bananas, sliced
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons bourbon
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon cardamom
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Salted butter
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting
  1. Mix the waffles according to the package instructions and set aside to rest. Melt the butter in a medium nonstick skillet, add sliced bananas and cook for 3 - 5 minutes on medium. Add brown sugar, spices and vanilla and cook down until syrup forms, approximately 8 - 10 minutes. Pour bourbon on top of sugar mixture and tip slightly into the gas flame until it ignites (if you don’t have a gas stove, light with a long lighter - be careful!).
  2. Turn down the banana mixture to low and make your waffles. To assemble, spread butter over hot waffle, spoon banana slices over followed by the banana bourbon syrup. Dust with powdered sugar and serve.
